Luther missed just 12 shots in the final two quarters tonight in Pella and rolled to a 77-68 come-from-behind victory over Central College.
Trailing the Dutch 34-32 at halftime, the Norse shot 57 percent (16-28) in the final 20 minutes of play, and outscored the Dutch 45-34. Luther was also solid at the free throw line connecting on 11-of-15 attempts for the game, with all but one make coming in the final two quarters.
Claire Marburger led all scorers with 21 points that included a 3-for-3 performance from behind the three-point line. Sarah Holtz also tallied double digits producing 14 off the bench. Laura Hamilton and Madison Spence were next with nine and eight points respectively.
Three Dutch scored double digits. Jessica Helton tallied 17, while Tina Lane added 15 and Kristin Hubert chipped in 14.
The win keeps Luther in a two-way tie for second place with Coe College with a record of 10-4. The Norse are 16-9 overall. Central fell to 2-12 in the IIAC, 7-16 overall.
Luther will travel to the University of Dubuque on Wednesday, Feb. 14. Start time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
