The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire hosted its annual Frank Wigglesworth Fall Invitational Sept. 10-11. The sixteen-team field played on two courses. The first day was played at the par 72 Wild Ridge Golf Course (6750 yds), and the second at the Par 71 Eau Claire Country Club (6705 yds). Luther was the lone Iowa Conference team in the field.
The Norse shot rounds of 312-318 and finished 11th with a 630. Augsburg College won the team title shooting 606 and finished one stroke ahead of host UW-Eau Claire that shot 607.
Individually, Joe Fewer posted his second consecutive top-10 finish. Fewer finished in a five-way tie for second at +6, carding rounds of 74-75-149. Ryan Isaacson of UW-Eau Claire was the tournament medalist with a one under par 142.
Completing the Luther five and how they finished included JP Knutson (T19 - 154), Ben Grotnes (T57 - 163), Spencer Horst (T79 - 168) and Connor Gossman (90th - 185).
Luther will continue its fall schedule Sept. 16-17, when it will play in the Midwest Region Classic. The two-day tournament will be played at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa - Galena, Ill.
