Luther remained alone atop the Iowa Conference standings following a 60-55 victory over University of Dubuque in the Regents Center. The win avenged a 76-73 overtime loss to the Spartans six days ago.
Trailing 46-40 at the midway point of the second half, the Norse put together a 16-2 run in a six minute span en route to the victory. The Norse held the Spartans to 40 percent and won the battle of the glass 41-25.
Tyler Wedemeier recorded a double-double scoring 16 points and matching his career high for rebounds with 15. Zach Matos-Pritchard led all scorers with 18. Aaron Huber and Michael Crocker were both credited with six points, while Cale Austin and Kyle Rosacker both chipped in five.
Dubuque was led by Mitch Michaelis with 11. Chris Frazier and Andre Norris tallied 10 each.
The victory was the second in a row for the Norse who are now 7-1 in the IIAC, 14-5 overall. Dubuque fell to 4-4, 14-5.
Luther returns to action Wednesday, Jan. 30 when it travels to Loras College for a game that will begin at 8:00 p.m.
