Luther wrapped up the regular season schedule with an impressive 83-62 victory over Buena Vista University. Following a Madison Spence jumper 1:30 into the first quarter, the Norse never trailed the rest of the game.
Four players tallied double digits led by Sydney Rehnelt who scored a game high 16 points. Rehnelt was blistering from behind the arch connecting on all five of her three-point attempts. Katie Waller was next with 13, while Sarah Holtz and Spence were each credited with 12 and 10 points respectively.
Claire Marburger, who scored nine points, led the team with seven rebounds. The Norse out rebounded the Beavers 51-33 that included 21 on the offensive glass. Laura Hamilton matched her career high with eight assists and was one shy of her career high for steals with five.
Jasmine Demers led the Beavers with 15 points. Claudia Larsen tallied 12 and Cassy Miller was credited with nine off the bench.
Next for the Norse is the Iowa Conference Tournament. Luther is the No. 2 seed and has a first round bye. The Norse will host the winner between No. 3 Coe and No. 6 Simpson on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7:00 p.m. Coe will host Simpson on Tuesday, Feb. 20 in Cedar Rapids at 7:00 p.m.
