For the second time in as many nights Luther faced a nationally ranked team at the Paul F. Knueppel Classic hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College. This afternoon, No. 15 DePauw University defeated Luther 78-67.
Four Norse tallied double figures led by Claire Marburger, who for the second consecutive night produced 20 points. For her efforts, she was named to the all-tournament team.
Sarah Holtz also tallied double figures with 14, followed by Erin Saemrow who produced a career high 11, while Katie Waller added 10.
DePauw (2-0) was led by Maya Howard with a game high 25 points. Sydney Kopp added 17 and Claire Keefe chipped in 14.
DePauw won the battle of the boards 48-29 that included 20 offensive rebounds that led to 17 second chance points.
The loss gives Luther an overall record of 1-2. The Norse return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 21 when they will host UW-Platteville at 6:00 p.m.
