Simpson College posted 46 points in each half tonight in the Regents Center and defeated Luther 92-75. The Storm did the majority of their damage from distance as they shot 50 percent (14-28) from behind the three-point line.
Luther's Jared Nicolaisen produced a double-double scoring 23 points and collecting 10 rebounds. Nicolaisen's offensive effort marked the third consecutive game he has scored 20-plus points.
James Kappus and McCoy Matthias also tallied double digits with 19 and 10 points respectively.
Simpson was led by the foursome of Conor Riordan with 26, Sam Amsbaugh with 15, Tyler Stumbo with 13 and Kyle Wagner with 10.
The loss gives Luther an Iowa Conference mark of 0-11, 5-15 overall. Simpson improved to 7-5 in the IIAC, 11-9 overall.
Luther travels to Coe College this Saturday, Feb. 3. Tip-off is slated for 4:00 p.m.
