Trailing 34-30 at halftime, Luther outscored Wartburg 38-25 in the second frame en route to a 68-59 victory in the conference opener for both teams. The Norse put together a 16-5 run midway through the second frame and led by as many as 14 with a little over three minutes left in the game. The Norse forced the Knights into 18 turnovers that led to 32 points and also tallied 18 second chance points.
Meagan Koepnick led a foursome of double digit scorers with 16. Moran Lonning tallied 15, followed by Anna Madrigal with 13 and Kylie Romeo with 10. Carrie Kilen grabbed a game high eight rebounds. Lonning was next with six and also dished out five assists.
The Knights were led by Kailey Kladivo who scored a game high 24 points. Kristie Sommer added 16 and Katie Sommer chipped in 14.
The win was the eighth in a row for Luther increasing its overall record to 11-1. Wartburg fell to 9-3.
Luther stays on the road this Saturday and will travel to Central College. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
