Luther posted its third win in a row defeating Martin Luther College tonight in New Ulm by a score of 81-73.
The Norse jumped out to a quick 13-0 lead, but the Knights battled back and held a 37-36 advantage at halftime. In the second half, Luther connected on 16-of-33 attempts and outscored Martin Luther 45-36 en route to the victory. The Norse also dominated the boards outrebounding the Knights 51-39.
Moran Lonning led a trio of double digit scorers for the Norse with 20. Meagan Koepnick tallied 16 and Anna Madrigal chipped in 12. Carrie Kilen and Kylie Romeo were next with seven each. Kilen led the team with 10 rebounds, while Lonning dished out a game high seven assists.
The victory gives Luther an overall record of 6-1. Martin Luther fell to 1-8.
The Norse will host University of Northwestern (MN) this Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
