Luther improved to 4-1 defeating UW-River Falls (3-3) in the Regents Center 76-62. Trailing 34-29 at halftime, the Norse put together a 25-5 run in the first eight minutes of the second half and never looked back. Luther blistered the nets from behind the three-point line, matching a single game school record with 12 treys. The record was set in 2004 against Loras College. Combined the Norse were 12-of-22 from behind the arch.
Kylie Romeo led this outside attack connecting on 5-of-7 three pointers en route to a game high 17 points. Meagan Koepnick was next with 14, followed by Moran Lonning with 13 and Sydney Rehnelt with 11 off the bench.
The Norse played unselfish basketball, recording 18 assists on their 26 total field goals. Lonning led the team with five and Keopnick was next with four. Lonning also just missed a double-double collecting a team best nine rebounds.
Luther returns to action one week from today when it will host Viterbo University at 2:00 p.m.
