Coe College handed Luther its first conference loss of the season this afternoon here in Decorah. The Kohawks won two of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches en route to a 7-2 victory.

Luther's Kyle Appel and James Ayer pick up the lone victory at No. 2 doubles posting an 8-5 decision over Ryan Hickman and Michael Janssen.

Ayer was 2-0 for the afternoon, posting the lone victory in singles, defeating Alex Bernt 6-3, 2-6, 13-11 at No. 5.

The loss drops Luther's league record to 2-1, 16-5 overall. Coe improved to 5-0 in conference play, 19-4 overall.

The Norse return to action tomorrow afternoon when they will host No. 17 Carleton College. This match will begin at 1:30 p.m.
