The fall season officially ended this afternoon in Waterloo after an extremely wet weekend forced play for the Iowa Conference Individual Tournament to be moved indoors.
In Flight A singles, Jackie Cychosz placed fourth. Cychosz advanced to the semifinals before being eliminated from the championship bracket by Haley Resnick of Coe (6-3, 6-2). In the third place match, Cychosz was defeated by Arantxa Martinez of Dubuque (7-6 (7-2), 6-2.
Three Norse teams advanced to the semifinals of A Doubles. The duo of Cychosz and Claire Christian advanced to the championship match after defeating teammates Kelsey Kruse and Devon Bourget (8-3). In the other semifinal match, Anna Pearson and Britta Pressler lost to Resnick and Lauren French of Coe (8-0). The Coe duo claimed the 2017 doubles championship posting an (8-4) victory over Cychosz and Christian in the title match.
In B Singles, Bourget was defeated by Emma Cooke of Loras (6-2, 6-2) in the semifinals. Bourget was then defeated by Lauren O'Brian of Wartburg (2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5)) in the third place match.
Erin Halverson placed third in C Singles. After advancing to the semifinals, Halverson was defeated by Laurynn Mize of Central (6-4, 6-3). In the third place match, she defeated Naomi Amani of Dubuque (6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8)).
