Luther started the Wartburg Invitational with a 3-0 victory over Hamline University (MN) tonight. The Norse posted set scores of 26-24, 25-20 and 25-14.
Emma Veum led all attackers with 16 kills. Veum posted an attack percentage of .591. As a team, Luther's attack percentage was .302. Sam Sixta dished out 35 assists and Natalie Cote led the defensive efforts with 14 digs. Sixta recorded a double-double with 12 digs and Karissa Kime was credited with 10. The Norse tallied six team blocks, led by Sam Schroeder who had three block assists.
Saturday, Luther begins play facing No. 11 Gustavus Adolphus at Noon, and finishes with a match against UW-La Crosse at 2:00 p.m.
