A three-point basket by Courtney Kelderman with 0:03 seconds left in the game secured a 76-75 come-from-behind victory for Central over Luther tonight in Pella. Kelderman's bucket capped off an 8-0 run by the Dutch in the final two minutes of the game.
The Norse led by as many as 17 points, but the three-point shooting effort by the Dutch proved to be the difference. Central shot 57 percent from behind the arch (12-21).
Taylor Johnson led a foursome of double digit scorers for the Norse. Johnson tallied 16 points and was followed by Nellie Nelson (14), Logan Hjerleid (13) and Meagan Koepnick (12).
Central's Kenzie Vander Molen led all scorers with a career high 29.
Tonight was the conference opener for both teams. The loss gives Luther an overall record of 9-3, while Central improved to 9-3.
The Norse will return to action at home on Saturday when they will host the Knights of Wartburg College at 2:00 p.m.
