Luther took its first and final lead of the evening four minutes into the first half en route to a 72-57 victory over Northwestern College (MN) here in the Regents Center.
Shooting nearly 57 percent from the field, the Norse outscored the Eagles 32-20 in the first half and 40-37 in the second frame. Defensively, the Norse held the Eagles to 37 percent that included an 8-for-25 performance from behind the three-point line.
Nine different Norse scored led by Tyler Wedemeier who matched his career high with 24 points. Zach Matos-Pritchard also tallied double figures with 12.
Wade Chitwood was the only Northwestern player to reach double figures with 15.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 5-3, while Northwestern fell to 5-2.
Luther will be off until Saturday, Dec. 15 when it will host UW-River Falls at 4:00 p.m.
