Grant Morton was crowned the American Rivers Conference A-Singles champion this afternoon. Day two of the tournament began outside at 8:00 a.m but weather forced play to the indoor courts at Blackhawk Tennis Club.
Morton defeated teammate Cole Schneider (6-2, 4-6, 10-6) in the championship match. He advanced to the championship match defeating teammate Nyathi Motlojoa in the semifinals (6-2, 1-6, 10-8).
Schneider advanced to the championship match after defeating William Isiminger of Central in straight sets (6-2, 6-2).
Motlojoa went on to claim third place defeating Isiminger (7-6 (8-6), 6-2).
Charlie Weill was crowned the league's B-singles champion. Weill defeated Tanner Finken of Central in straight sets (6-1, 6-0). Weill advanced to the title match after defeating Riley Collins of Loras in the semifinals (6-1, 6-0).
In the A-doubles finals, Schneider and Motlojoa were defeated in the championship match (8-6) by Rami Hemaidan and Bo Wilson of Coe. In the third place match, Morton and Brook Norwood lost the Nathan Meskell and Jon Lansing (8-7(7-3)).
