Playing in very wet conditions for two days at Oneota Golf and Country Club, Luther won the team title of its own invitational this afternoon. The Norse shot rounds of 332-335 for a 667. UW-La Crosse was second with a 696 and St. Scholastica was third at 714.
Individually, Morgan Kranz was medalist with a two-round total of 156. The Par 72 played at 5,892 yards and Kranz shot rounds of 77-79. She finished seven strokes ahead of Maija Tanberg of UW-La Crosse who shot 163.
Kelly Schultz finished third at 165 and Sydney Maule was fifth with a 169. Riley Bartlett, who finished in a tie for 10th shot 177. Maddy Wedmore completed the Norse five shooting a 185.
The Luther white team finished tied for fifth shooting 785. Linda Jiang led this foursome finishing tied for 10th at 177. Emma Fretheim (T19 - 186), Aime Hodges (24th - 193), and Elayna Kiehne (33rd - 229) completed squad. Alayna Eichstadt started the tournament but had to withdraw due to injury.
Next week, Luther is going to play in the Waldorf University Invitational, an 18-hole tournament that will be held at Wedwood Cove Golf Club.
