Luther fell to 1-2 in the Iowa Conference after dropping a 3-1 decision to the visiting Duhawks of Loras College.
The Norse trailed in every set tonight, battled back, but unfortunately came up short three of four sets. Down six points in set one, Luther posted a come-from-behind win 25-23. In set two, Luther trailed 15-23, leveled the score at 23-23, but lost the next two points for a final of 23-25. Set three was much the same as the Norse trailed 17-20, tied the set at 22-22, but were defeated 25-27. In the final set of the night, Loras led the entire way en route to a 25-22 outcome.
Four Norse tallied double digit kill totals led by Natalee Johnson with a match high 21. Leah Broderick and Kelsey Sorensen both had 13 and McKinzy Lohberger was credited with 12. Lindsey Ryan tallied 55 assists, while Brandi Knupp led the team with 23 digs.
The loss drops Luther's overall record to 11-9. Loras improved to 2-1 in the IIAC, 8-10 overall.
The Norse will travel to Waverly, Iowa for the two-day Wartburg Invitational this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5.
