Luther fell to 3-4 after dropping a 64-61 decision to Martin Luther College in New Ulm this evening. The win was the first of the season for the Knights who are now 1-7.
The Norse had a difficult shooting night connecting on 31 percent of their attempts, but did win the battle of the boards 41-37. After trailing 29-32 at halftime, the Norse battled back from eight points down with just under nine minutes left in the game, and pulled to within one (62-61) with 18 seconds left. Two free throws by the Knights Josh Lindner sealed the victory.
Four Norse tallied double digits led by Cale Austin with 13. Jake Martin was next with 12, followed by Nathan Meyer and Christian Wright who both chipped in 10.
Todd Brassow and Linder led the Knights with 24 and 21 points respectively.
Luther returns to action this Saturday when it will host University of Northwestern (MN) at 4:00 p.m.
