Designing Effective Writing Assignments

Join Writing Director, Mike Garcia, for this extended hands-on workshop on how to develop effective writing assignments.
In this workshop, participants will work on writing assignments for Fall 2022 courses. Together, we will discuss sequencing assignments, balancing formal and informal writing, and providing meaningful feedback on writing. We will focus on using writing to develop skills and content knowledge across the span of the whole course, so participants should come to the workshop with a specific fall course in mind. The workshop will be in two parts with some time for planning in between.
This workshop runs from 9:30 to 11:30 and 1:30 to 3:30. Lunch will be provided.
