Americorps NCCC

AmeriCorps NCCC is a full-time, ten month residential volunteer program focused on strengthening communities and developing leaders through direct, team-based national and community service. Members are assigned to one of five regional campuses that collectively serve all fifty states. In partnership with secular and faith-based non-profits, various levels of government, national and state parks, Indian Tribes, and schools, volunteers work with their team of eight to twelve other NCCC volunteers to complete service projects throughout their assigned region. Each team completes four to six different projects in the areas of infrastructure improvement, disasters, environmental stewardship and conservation, energy conservation, and urban and rural development. Leadership and cohesion are important to the success of an NCCC team.

Application Info

There are two NCCC program cycles. The fall cycle begins in late September while the winter cycle begins in late January. The fall cycle’s application deadline is typically around April 1 while the winter cycle’s deadline generally falls near July 1. It is best to apply early because each program class can close before the application due date. You can expect the process from initial application to final selection to take between 2 and 3 months.
