Since retirement I have occasionally continued "teaching." Most recently together with a colleague I taught a January term course entitled "Sacred Spaces." Visiting Italy, Germany, and France, we studied worship practices and worship spaces, focusing on the ecumenical movement. I have also had a chance to continue my love of Shakespeare by teaching in the Tuesday Seminars, a program for community people. Most recently we traveled to the new Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis to see a Shakespeare play which we had studied together.
So retirement allows me to continue to spend time with both young and older students. And I have continued to do what I have always loved to do—read and discuss writers and their imaginative work with others.
