Marketing & Social Media Assistant

Objectives

  1. Ensure that the Center has an updated, accurate and attractive web presence
  2. Ensure the Center’s events and programs are effectively advertised so that there is brand recognition on campus and in the wider community.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop promotional materials for the Center’s events
  • Keep the website updated - content, photos- and ensure that it can be easily navigated
  • Ensure linked resources are accurate relevant and appropriate
  • Update the Facebook and flickr page regularly
  • Take photos of our events, for the website and newsletter
  • Develop strategies to drive students to FB and the newsletter
  • Collaborate with Photo Bureau, Chips & KWLC and off campus media to promote and advertise events and programs
  • Collaborate with the Communications Assistant to ensure consistency and quality
  • Keep the bulletin board updated to reflect the Center’s activities for the period
  • Manage the front desk when staff is unavailable
  • Attend/request training as appropriate to improve skills
  • Complete online biweekly work reports
  • Attend LDC events

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning of signature events
  • Perform general office duties

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Above average proficiency with the reason and constant contact software programs
  • Good computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft publisher and other design media
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of the team
  • Ability to keep information confidential
  • Must be available for training period
