Concert Band
The Luther College Concert Band was formed in 1878, beginning the college’s long-standing tradition of band excellence. The group is one of the oldest touring organizations in the nation and ranks among the country's outstanding college bands.

During its 125-plus years of existence, Concert Band has enjoyed unrivaled performance opportunities in the United States, Western Europe, and Japan. They will be traveling to Iceland and Norway in May 2013.

Auditions for Concert Band are held in the fall and auditions for openings are held in the spring. Concert Band rehearses MWF 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. and T 4:15 to 5:45 p.m.

Wind and Percussion Ensemble

The ensemble is limited to approximately 50 students with a controlled instrumentation who rehearse three days a week. The size and quality of the ensemble allows an intense attitude in terms of rehearsal and performance material.

In addition to Family weekend performances and Dorian Band Festival performance, the Wind and Percussion ensemble gives a full concert each semester.
