Take advantage of your summers and January Terms through an internship or another learning opportunity! Below are resources to jump-start your search. Be sure to inquire with the Career Center and faculty members about these opportunities. You can also become a part of the department emailing list by sending your information to [email protected] which regularly sends out job/internship/workshop opportunity notifications and other news.

Annual Moab Contact Improvisation Workshop and Jam: Three-day dance retreat in late May, with the goal to help dancers connect to the natural world.

Artsearch: A range of dance jobs and internships. Ask faculty or Career Center for password. 

Bates Dance Festival: International organization of choreographers, performers, students, and educators to create a community.  Offers workshops and internships. 

Bearnstow Summer Workshops: A summer retreat dedicated to exploring the natural world through the lens of the arts and sciences. Also has a Young Artist Residency Program for dance students.

Columbus Center for Movement Studies: Being in Movement mindbody education- focuses on personal growth, relaxation and other practical applications , certification is possible.

Contact Outlines the principles of Contact Improvisation as well connecting dancers around the world to festivals, workshops, contact jams, and organizations. 

Contemporary Performance Network: Social media site for dancers, it strives to connect dancers, researchers, choreographers, and festivals.

Dance/NYC: A New York City-based dance organization connected with Dance/USA.  Offers research opportunities as well as internships and job-listings.

Dance/USA: One the the United States' leaders in dance, offering not only internships, jobs, and auditions, but also programs in dance leadership and audience engagement.

Dancing Opportunities: Worldwide resource of dance internships, workshops, residencies, auditions, and programs.  

Earthdance: A workshop, residency, and retreat-center for dancers in the Berkshire hills of Western Massachusetts. Offers Contact Improvisation jams, workshops, and other classes. Would be possible to enroll as a J2 experience.  

Grin City Collective Emerging Artist Residency: Based in Grinnell, Iowa, this program offers students to collaborate in a creative environment.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago: Offers an intensive summer dance program for students with a background of ballet and contemporary. Located in Chicago.  

Movement Research: A New York City organization that offers classes, workshops, and dance research. Would be possible to enroll as a J2 experience.   

Nancy Stark Smith: As one of the leaders of Contact Improvisation and other contemporary styles, Nancy Stark Smith offers several workshops around the world. Would be possible to enroll as a J2 experience. 

Performing Arts Abroad: Connects dance, theatre, film, and music students with opportunities to experience their art abroad. Would be possible to enroll as a J2 experience. 

The Place: A London-based dance organization that offers classes, workshops, and other opportunities.  

Playbill: Has an online casting and jobs sections for dance, theatre, and technical aspects.
