Summer Housing Staff | Job Description & Application Process

The Campus Programming Office is looking for highly motivated, creative, people-focused individuals who want to make a difference, learn by doing, and like a challenge.

Represent Luther College this summer welcoming and interacting with our conference and sports camp guests. Be a part of a small team of eight full-time, dedicated, summer conferences and camps staff members who help ensure that our guests have a great experience during their stay on campus. Learn to provide gracious hospitality and a customer experience that exceeds expectations.

Experience and Skills

  • Past leadership role with a campus club or team preferred
  • Previous experience in summer housing, residence life, or admissions a plus
  • Customer service or hospitality industry experience a plus
  • Ability to communicate professionally by phone and email
  • Mathematic and analytical skills a plus
  • Knowledge of Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel helpful
  • Familiarity with Basecamp or Slack a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License

Description of Duties

  • Assist Housing Director and Associate Director of Campus Programming with:
  • Check-in/check-out of guests
  • Communication with Facilities, Dining Services, and Security
  • Sports camp registration and housing
  • Data entry, and basic bookkeeping
  • Other duties as assigned


  1. There will be (3) eight hour shifts per day. 5-2 schedule (5 days on, 2 off)
  2. Business casual dress code (7 days per week)
  3. There will be 2-3 Orientation/Training Sessions in April/May (attendance required)
