Twelve years! Has it already been twelve years? With graduation season fast approaching, I feel suddenly nostalgic for 2004 – a time when another election battle was underway and no social media existed yet to tweet about it. The Iraq War was still a young operation, and the housing bubble had yet to burst. Pope John Paul II, Chief Justice William Rehnquist, and Michael Jackson were still alive, and everyone carried “dumb phones.” In 2004 we “millennials” began to enter the workforce and started messing with the status quo of workplace culture and entrepreneurialism. Much of what existed then does not exist now, and much of what exists now did not exist then. What a difference only twelve years can make!
