Dear Class of 2000 Classmate,
Every fall as I sit down to write this letter, I am amazed at how time really does seem to fly by. Perhaps you too feel the same way. While the hustle and bustle of daily life permeates my thoughts, lately I find myself daydreaming about the fall season on Luther’s gorgeous campus, in particular the beauty and splendor of the Oneota Valley. The amazing new blue turf of Legacy Field in Carlson Stadium adds a new sense of awe and pride to an already beautiful scene. I am looking forward to seeing this incredible sight in person!
I hope you have been able to keep up with the happenings at Luther through various social media sites, alumni events in your community, or visiting campus. One fantastic new initiative is the Alumni Ambassador Program. I hope that many of you referred students to this program and are as excited as I am about the potential to make a monetary difference in the lives of Luther students. The Luther Annual Fund has been renamed the Luther Fund. Like the Annual Fund, donations to the Luther Fund support current Luther students.
As you go about your day-to-day obligations, I hope you can take a moment to reflect on your favorite Luther memories. Some of mine include-lazy walks around campus (or sprinting to class due to oversleeping), meal transfer in Marty’s, card games on laundry hamper “tables,” learning from incredible professors, attending basketball games in the fieldhouse, singing with friends, and just laughing and learning with some of the best people in the world!
