Dear Luther Friends,
As I write this letter, I hope winter has loosened its grip on you, wherever you may reside. Here in north Texas we've had three snow days in two weeks—very rare by Texas standards, although nothing compared to midwestern ones. Back in early December, winter was just starting to percolate when I packed my 10-year-old daughter in the car and headed north, committed to attending my first Christmas at Luther concert in, oh, about twenty years. You see, my daughter is now part of a select choir at her school and can finally, finally appreciate Luther's musical tradition. Our too brief trip (14-hour drive, 3 days) offered plenty of quality reflection time.
