Thoughts for the members of the Class of 1954:
“Never give up on anyone. Miracles happen every day.”
“Learn to Listen. Opportunity sometimes knocks very softly.”
Dear 1954 Classmates,
For me, this is class agent letter #3, so I am sure I am a “seasoned” class agent! It is 65 years ago that we set foot on the Luther College campus as naïve first-year students from Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, and a few other states. Luther did not have any international students yet, but Asibong Okon, from Calabar, Nigeria, came in January 1951 as the first overseas student at Luther—remember? Asibong graduated with us in 1954 and studied to become a bishop, at the University of Wisconsin.
