The Luther College Football Cheer Squad consists of 13-15 men and women who have copious amounts of spirit. Stunting and sideline cheers are most fundamental to this squad although some members tumble as well. The squad also performs a routine at halftime that involves dancing, stunting, tumbling, and cheering. This squad cheers at all home games, and some away games. The football squad also assists with Community Day, hosts a youth cheer clinic, and participates in the Luther Homecoming festivities. Tryouts for the squad are held in the spring before each season.
During the season, the squad will practice 3-4 times a week. Practices are usually an hour and a half and are all based around the squad member's academic schedules. We incorporate strength training as well as team bonding into our practice schedules.
