Making Sense of Pandemic Teaching

  • Date: Monday, June 7, 2021
  • Time: 9:30 am – 11:00 am
  • Location: Zoom

Join Kate Elliott (CELT Director, VPA) as she leads faculty through a set of reflection exercises geared towards reflecting on the past year of pandemic teaching. This workshop was designed by Plymouth State University.

"As schools around the world have grappled with teaching during the Covid19 pandemic, those of us working in faculty development and support have witnessed first hand the challenges, successes, fears, and hopes of our teaching colleagues. We resist any attempts to find “silver linings” for this global crisis, but we acknowledge that teaching is a fundamentally iterative practice, providing opportunities semester after semester, year after year to rethink, reengineer, and reevaluate our practices. This workshop is designed to help individual faculty process both their impressions of what has happened since spring 2020 and how they feel about those events. The end goal is to encourage participants to begin to integrate their 2020 teaching experiences into a longer and larger narrative arc of their careers and callings."
