Information Systems Minor

Information technology is all around us and is fundamental to the day-to-day operations and long-term strategies of most organizations, whether they be for-profit firms, non-profit entities, large companies, small businesses, or entrepreneurial ventures.

The objective of the IS (Information Systems) curriculum is to prepare students to work effectively with information technology, while exhibiting the values learned in a liberal arts program.

The IS minor introduces students to the technical fundamentals of:

  • Computing
  • Systems Analysis and Design
  • Data Analysis
  • Computer Programming
  • Concepts for managing information technology resources

The minor is designed to complement any major by providing students with the foundation to effectively utilize information technology in their chosen field or career. Students majoring in accounting and management in particular will find their fields demand strong IS skills for success.
