 Robert Shedinger Book Signing: On Saturday, June 8 Robert Shedinger signed copies of his newest book release, Radically Open. 



2013 Luther Graduation: Members of the Luther College Class of 2013 celebrated commencement on Sunday, May 19. Luther Alumnus Charlie Boerger signed copies of his book, Chasing the Dream, on Saturday.






'13 Textbook Buyback: Many students won Luther shirts and received cash for their books during the 2013 Spring Textbook Buyback.




Book Shop 75th Birthday Celebration - April 26, 2013: Birthday cake, refreshments and door prizes were enjoyed by all who attended the Book Shop Birthday celebration. 





"Peep"tacular Day - 2013: Hundreds of peep fanatics turned out to vote for their favorite Peep diorama.






New Nacs Foundation Board member: Book Shop director, Deanna Casterton, was installed as a new board member to the Nacs (National Association of College Stores) Foundation during the Foundation’s 30th anniversary reception held at the annual Camex (Campus Market Expo) Convention in Kansas City, MO in February.



 Teri Gaustad: Long time Luther Book Shop clothing buyer, Teri Gaustad, recently resigned to pursue a new and exciting career. 




Grad Finale 2013: The Dahl Centennial Union Lobby was abuzz with much activity on March 19 & 20 as Luther's Class of 2013 seniors participated in Grad Finale 2013.




Wii Bowling League 2013: 11 teams of four, comprised of Luther faculty, staff and students, participated in the 2013 Wii Bowling League in the Book Shop. 




Warm Hands...Warm Hearts... From Tuesday, February 12 - Friday, February 15, bring in donations of new or gently used gloves, hats, mittens or $2 donations and receive a 25% off item coupon for each donation.




Christmas in the Union 2012: The Book Shop celebrated the sights of sounds of Christmas in the Union, 2012 on Wednesday, December 5. 




Christmas at Luther 2012: The Book Shop hosted several book signings on Saturday, December 1.




Halloween 2012: The Book Shop was full of bewitching fun on October 31,2012.




 Homecoming 2012: The Book Shop celebrated Homecoming 2012 on Saturday, October 6 with several book signings. 



National Student Day 2012: On Thursday, October 4, 2012, National Student Day,  the Book Shop honored Luther Students for their volunteer efforts.





Banned Book Readout 2012: On Tuesday, October 2 a Banned Book Readout was held in the Book Shop.





Eddie Daniels Book Signing: On Wednesday, September 26, the Book Shop welcomed anti-apartheid activist, Eddie Daniels for a book signing. 




Family Weekend 2012: On Saturday, September 22, the Book Shop celebrated Family Weekend with a storybook reading and a book signing. 




"Askelad" Book Signing: On Saturday, July 28, Rolf Erdahl and Carrie Vecchione performed music to and narrated the book, "Askelad and the Seven Ducks."




Philip Freeman Book Signing: On Saturday, May 19, Philip Freeman signed copies of his most recent book releases.




Namibia Project: The Book Shop recently donated calculators to the Empowering Learners Project in Namibia. 




Peep Diorama Contest 2012: A PEEPtacular Day was celebrated on Friday, March 30 in the Book Shop, with marshmallow treats and a Peep Diorama Contest.



Grad Finale 2012:  Tuesday and Wednesday, March 27 & 28, Grad Finale was held in the Union Lobby from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.




Wii Bowling 2012: On Tuesday, March 13, 2012, two teams bowled for the undisputed right to call themselves Luther Wii Bowling Champions 2012.




Love to Give, Love to Save: On Tuesday, February 14, customers gave from their heart by bringing in donations for the local food pantry. 




Carol Gilbertson Book Signing: On Saturday, December 3, Carol Gilbertson signed copies of her poetry book, From a Distance, Dancing.  




Christmas in the Union 2011: On Wednesday, December 7, the Book Shop, along with Student Activities Council and Dining Services, hosted the annual Christmas in the Union event. 




Halloween Haunt: Monday, October 31. The Book Shop staff, alias "mad doctors, hosted a day full of tricks and treats complete with frightfully fantastic sales, a scavenger hunt, scary movies and popcorn. Special treats were given to those who attended in costume. 



 Transformed By the Journey Signing: Saturday, October 15. Author Wilfred Bunge, as well as co-authors Dale Nimrod and Mary Lou Mohr signed copies of the new Luther history book, Transformed By the Journey: 150 Years of Luther College History in Word and Image. 





Doug Eckheart Print Signing: Saturday, October 15. The artist signed copies of his new print, Coming Home as well as Our Oneota Valley.



Erdman Book Signing: Saturday, October 15, 2011. Daryl Erdman '61 signed copies of Scar Tissue: Lessons From the World of Entrepreneurship





Jacobsen Book Signing: Saturday, October 15, 2011. Theodor Jacobsen '77 and Anne Jacobsen Clausen signed copies of Hallowed Ground: A Luther College Legacy.



 Tollefson Book Signing: Saturday, October 15, 2011. Dean Tollefson '57 and daughter, Kristi Tollefson Wolf '84 signed copies of their book, Rabbits Don't Hop, They Fly.





National Student Day: Thursday, October 6, 2011. The Book Shop hosted Luther College volunteer students for a day of games, prizes popcorn and fun. 





Storybook Reading: Saturday, October 1, 2011. Luther Education students, dressed as storybook characters, read from their favorite books.




Book Signing by Diane Ott Whealy: Saturday, October 1, 2011. Whealy signed copies of her memoir Gathering: Memoir of a Seed Saver. 




Book Signing by Stanley Gordon West: Saturday, October 1, 2011. West signed copies of Blind Your Ponies, a book that tells of a hapless high school basketball team that overcomes insurmountable odds. 



Banned Book Readout: Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 9:40 -10:30 a.m. a reading was held in the Book Shop to celebrate Banned Books Week. 



 Retirement Party for Jim Haemker: Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 2 - 4 p.m. a retirement reception was held in the Addams Lounge, located on the second floor of the Dahl Centennial Union.



 NAHA Norway Group Book Signing: Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Several presenters from the NAHA Norway conference signed copies of their books.




Book Signing by Theodor Jacobsen: May 21, 2011. Jacobsen signed copies of Hallowed Ground, a book that celebrates the Luther College legacy.

A "Royal" Celebration: April 29, 2011. In honor of the royal wedding of William and Kate, attendees dressed for the occasion enjoyed high tea and "royal" blue store promotions.

Sue Cornelison: December 4, 2010.  Cornelison signed copies of her latest book, Twelve Days of Christmas, along with other books she has authored.




Jean Brown Eittreim:  October 9, 2010.  The author signed copies of her new book,  Creating a Class You Love to Teach.



Drew Curtis:  October 9, 2010.  The author signed copies of his new book,  It's Not News, It's Fark: How Mass Media Tries to Pass Off Crap As News.

Wii Bowling 2010:  Another great Wii bowling league year came to a close while watching the top two teams bowl to determine who would be the tournament champs.
