Dr. Jim Eckblad

Dr. Jim Eckblad retired from teaching at the end of May, 2007. He taught Principles of Biology, Aquatic Biology, Biostatistics, and Principles of Evolution, among other subjects during his tenure in the Biology Department. His research interests are population ecology of stream benthos and modeling of biological systems.

No majors changes... (i.e. homeostasis)

  • still pondering the mysteries of life on the Mississippi River.
  • continues to ride a motorcycle (around Decorah).
  • enjoys periodic travels with other retired biologists.

But there are small changes... (i.e. microevolution)

  • his golf game has actually improved!
