Land Care Outreach 2018-2019 Poetry Contest

Natural Area

2018-2019 Poetry Contest

Welcome to the Luther Land Care Outreach Website!

Throughout the 2018-2019 school year, Luther Land Stewardship is hosting a poetry contest to encourage and inspire Luther students to engage with the wonderful natural areas throughout the Luther landscape. Our goal is for Luther students to spend more time outdoors in some of our unique and valuable landscapes. The poetry contest for Fall 2018 has a few important guidelines. First it is essential that you go out into at least one of the Luther Natural Areas. While you’re out there, enjoy the landscape and get inspired to write a poem about the location, any feeling that arises, or a fond memory. Not sure what you want to write about or what format to choose? See the prompts section below! Whatever you write about, make sure it can be linked back to the natural area of your choosing. Once you’ve written your poetry, submit it here!

If you would like more information about the poetry contest or the land care outreach program in general at Luther College, please email Anila Bano (

If you would like to get reminders and updates about the Poetry Contest and land stewardship events, submit your email here!  We will also be hosting two events for the Poetry Contest.
