Sherry Alcock

Executive Director of Alumni Relations

Sherry is responsible for developing and directing Luther's programs for all alumni, parents, and friends of the college. These programs include Homecoming, on- and off-campus events, alumni tours, along with all marketing and communications for the office. She also is the point person for the Alumni Council, Alumni Association, and the Black Alumni Association. She oversees the alumni relations staff. Sherry graduated from Luther in 1982 and joined the alumni team in 1990.

Kirk Johnson

Associate Director of Alumni Relations

Kirk is a contributing editor for class notes and obituaries for the LUTHER Alumni Magazine, and is responsible for managing Distinguished Service Awards, the Athletic Hall of Fame, and the Young Alumni Award. He coordinates various other alumni events year round, and manages Luther's LinkedIn sites and the alumni website. Kirk graduated from Luther in 1982 and joined the admissions staff in 1984. He has worked in alumni relations since 1990.

Alyssa Ritter

Associate Director of Alumni Relations

Alyssa's work includes a focus on young alumni engagement, starting with the annual Senior Send-Off event in May. She helps coordinate a variety of programs that connect alumni with current students, including the Vocation Inspired Alumni mentoring program. Alyssa also manages social media outreach for the Alumni Office and works closely with the Admissions Office, Career Services, Marketing, and Student Life. Alyssa graduated from Luther in 2011, joined Luther's admissions staff in 2012, and has been part of the alumni team since 2018.

Mariah Smith

Director of Parent and Family Relations and Special Projects

Mariah (she/her/hers) coordinates all components of parent and family engagement programming. Active in her community, Mariah has previously served as Luther's representative to the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as a member of the Decorah Chorale Board of Directors, and is a past president of ArtHaus in Decorah. Mariah graduated from Luther in 1995 with a degree in music (with a music management certificate) and is the parent of a current Luther student and of a graduate of St. Olaf College. In her spare time, Mariah enjoys walking the local trails with her dog, Oliver, crossword puzzles, and listening to NPR.

Trisha Soiney

Alumni Administrative and Records Assistant

Trisha serves as the administrative assistant to our Alumni Director, Sherry Alcock. She handles all related duties for that position, including scheduling, correspondence, and college business. She also provides and supports communications with the Alumni Council and for Alumni events through the Alumni Office.

 

Cydney Weitzel

Alumni Office and Records Coordinator

Cydney is responsible for entering and processing all of the biographical information for our alumni and friends. She manages the online alumni directory and the veterans directory for the office. Cydney also creates web content for our alumni events, tours, and programs. Cydney graduated from Luther in 2014 and joined the alumni team in 2021.
