The COVID-19 Pandemic: Stories of a Journey
Dr. Michael Osterholm is a University of Minnesota Regent Professor, McKnight Presidential Endowed Chair in Public Health, and director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy. He is helping to guide world leaders through the current health pandemic—and he communicates on a regular basis with Luther College President Jenifer Ward. Frequently invited by journalists to share his insights regarding the Covid-19 virus, Mike has also made numerous appearances on major television network news shows, produced podcasts, and published articles. In April his second book, Deadliest Enemy: Our War Against Killer Germs, was listed in the New York Times top-fifteen best seller list for hardcover nonfiction. The Luther Magazine Spring 2017 issue also featured Mike’s book. Mike graduated from Luther in 1975 and currently serves on our Board of Regents.
Since we are unable to meet in-person for our monthly Lunch Connection events in the Twin Cities, the planning committee has agreed to assist us with our virtual speaker series this year. Future speakers will be added to this webpage as they are confirmed. Please contact the Alumni Office at 800-225-8664 or [email protected] if you have any questions.
