Look for SAC Cinema's announcement of a screening of Nate Parker's 2016 film about Nat Turner's Revolt, "Birth of a Nation" in early February 2017. We will be showing this in anticipation of Charles Burnett's visit February 16. Burnett will be discussing the ways Americans remember Nat Turner and how that informs our current race relations. We will also be screening Burnett's documentary Nat Turner: A Troublesome Property on January 10 and February 9.
