FINALLY IT IS THANKSGIVING BREAK!!
Honestly though, I have been counting down the days ever since Fall Break ended. Throughout my entire school career, I have always had the entire week of Thanksgiving off, so having school the last two days was quite honestly weird for me…anyways…
In honor of Thanksgiving this week, I thought it would be a great opportunity to reflect on all the things I am thankful for. But because it is just that time of year that everybody will be posting about what they are thankful for, I thought I would mix it up a bit and add a little Norseman spirit (plus a whole lot of my natural wit) to my cliché list of what I am thankful for.
A Time For Giving Thanks- My Incredibly Reflective, Original and Profound List of Thanksgivings
1. My Family
Despite the fact that my younger sister, Ella, blames me for her and my brother fighting all the time (she actually told me over Fall Break, “We haven’t fought since you left for college, but now that you’re back we’ve been fighting, so it must be your fault”) I am still thankful for my parents, my siblings, all my cousins, my aunts and uncles and my grandparents. Oh and my awesome golden retriever, Cheerio.
2. My Friends
Again, I apologize for my lack of originality, but I am so very thankful for all my friends—all my fellow first years, the SQUAD back home, my new friends at Luther, and all my friends still stuck in high school.
3. The Luther College and Decorah Community
I never thought I would put anything involving school on my list of things I am grateful for, but I have to say I am extremely thankful to 1) Be able to attend college because I understand that it is a privilege and 2) Be able to attend Luther College, where there is such a strong sense of community among the professors and throughout the city of Decorah. Being 280 miles, 5 hours, and 1 state away (but who’s counting…) can be difficult, but the community at Luther really is a family of its own.
