Falling in Love with Fall

The changing colors, the rustle of leaves under your feet, the hot cocoa, what is there not to love about fall!? Oh, maybe that it means winter is coming… Never the less, I won’t let the impending frigid doom stop me from enjoying my favorite season!

Fall break happened to be the most perfect weekend for a hike and nature exploring with a friend. Should I have probably done a little more homework in that time? Absolutely not! This was fall break and I was ready to fall in love with fall again! My friend Blake and I went out on the trails by Dunning Springs to take in the view. It was quite the hike, especially for someone one who hasn’t been on a real hike since my time in Ireland last spring, but it was definitely worth it.

I only have a couple pictures because I decided to unplug and not bring my phone (probably not the safest idea I’m aware) so I had to bribe Blake to take some occasionally. It was great to step into nature and away from the overload of responsibilities for a while. This is also one of the many reasons why I love Decorah. It was so easy to do exactly that, unplug and enjoy nature! I had a great fall break and I’m definitely looking forward to the scarves, sweatshirts, boots, and hot cocoa to come. Let’s just hope the frost and ice and snow holds off long enough for me to enjoy the beauty of the changing leaves and still hikeable trails!
