Spring break started this past Friday—FINALLY! :) It has definitely been nice to have a less packed schedule as I spend some time at home.
On Friday, I got a ride to Iowa City and spent some time with my sister, before my parents came to get me—so that was fun. I was planning on having my parents come get me the next day, but the impending spring snowstorm altered those plans. We went out to eat dinner at Bo-James when my parents got there, before heading for home.
I woke up to snow falling on Saturday! What a sight to start off my spring break, haha! I spent that day inside watching Netflix shows and also made some cookies.
Most of the snow melted the next day, so that was good! I also got started on some homework Sunday afternoon. For my family communication class, our final project/paper is a "family oral history." For one part, we have to interview two people from different generations of the same family. I picked my dad and my grandma to interview, so I got my dad's interview completed that afternoon. Now, I have to interview my grandma over FaceTime or something, and then transcribe the interviews. Then, I can move on to the next step of the process—which involves analysis and writing the actual paper.
Later Sunday afternoon, I went to see my friend, Evelyn! It's always good to see her. :) We had our usual fun of getting together and watching movies, talking, and eating pizza and chips... And can't forget the root beer! I drank so much root beer! :) (At Bo-James on Friday I had root beer, too. Needless to say, I've had a lot of root beer in the last few days, haha!)
Earlier in the weekend, I had randomly texted my friend, Mitch, from high school (that I haven't even seen/talked to for about two years)! We made plans to hang out and catch up today, over ice cream. It was rainy and about 34 degrees outside, but I really wanted my first Cardinal Corner ice cream of the season. :) Later, we went to Culver's and got food, and I also got more root beer, haha. :)
It was awesome to hang out and catch up with him, though! It's so crazy to see how many things have changed for both of us over the last couple years, but yet how our friendship still seems as solid as ever. Hopefully we'll hang out again before I leave for Nottingham in September!
That's about the extent of my spring break excitement! I don't really have any other plans for the rest of the week, so we'll see if any other fun things happen. Otherwise, I'll most likely end up getting some more homework done before we start back up with classes next week.
