Award-winning media, e-commerce and cybersecurity entrepreneur Mohamed Amine Belarbi will deliver a lecture titled "Unleashing the Entrepreneur within Us" at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 7, in F.W. Olin Building Room 102 on the Luther College campus.
The lecture, presented by the Luther Economics and Business Department and funded by the Dennis and Suzanne Birkestrand Chair in Economics and Business, is open to the public with no charge for admission.
In his talk, Belarbi attempts to convey that entrepreneurship is a mindset and not an industry or skill-related ability. "Everyone can be an entrepreneur," he says, "we are born that way, we just forget it as we grow up in a world full of people, institutions and notions that want to box us as mere employees averse to risk and prone to fear."
Belarbi is cofounder and editor in chief of "Gulf Elite" magazine and cofounder and CEO of VUL9 Security Solutions. He is the recipient of the Siemens Middle East Award, the Technopreneur Award and was named the Young Entrepreneur of the Year by Arabian Business Startup Awards. Belarbi is also the author of the Amazon best seller "The Art of the Grind: What They Don’t Teach You in College."
