Dr. Barbara J. Love will deliver a faculty workshop on developing Social Justice Pedagogy. Dr. Love is Professor Emerita of Social Justice Education at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She consults with faculties and administration at colleges and universities throughout the U.S., Europe, the Caribbean, and Africa and with a variety of other organizations on issues of diversity and inclusion. She has co-authored a variety of publications including chapters in Teaching for Diversity and Social Justice on “Knowing Ourselves as Instructors,” “Racism,” and “Ageism and Adultism.”

This workshop will build on work from her workshop in March but attendance at that prior workshop is not necessary for registration at this workshop.

Lunch will provided and participants will receive a $50 stipend. Following the workshop there will be an opportunity for faculty to apply for $500 grants to work in groups throughout the summer and fall to redesign existing courses or build new courses around the social justice pedagogy concepts discussed in this workshop.
