In this half-day workshop, faculty will work with Ed Finn from the Associated Colleges of the Midwest to explore backward course design in light of the revised version of Bloom’s Taxonomy, a series of small group discussions, and directed activities. In an interactive group setting, participants will do the following: learn how to describe the process of backwards design and the role of Bloom’s revised Taxonomy; evaluate their current learning objectives in one course; revise existing learning objectives based on self-reflection and discussions with peers, using the action verbs contained in the taxonomy; and begin developing skills and activities to support the revised learning objectives. Participants will receive a $25 stipend.
