Workshop: Academic Advising

TO REGISTER, CLICK ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WORKSHOP. THERE IS NOT A SEPARATE REGISTRATION FOR THIS SECOND HALF-DAY.

This one and a half-day workshop provides an orientation for faculty who will begin advising first-year students, as well as a refresher for faculty who have already been advising first-year students. Topics include advising as teaching, all-college requirements, FERPA, the advising folder, how to read a program evaluation, advising for specific majors and minors, students at risk for academic success, and a ROAD simulation. Lunch will be provided on the first day, and participants will receive a $75 stipend. Facilitators: Sean Burke, Jeff Wilkerson, and Richard Bernatz
