Work Study Position: Admissions Housing Coordinator

If you’re a prospective student who has needed housing during an Admissions Visit Day or been on a tour, there’s a good chance you’ve met Evan.

What are your primary duties in this position?

My job is to find housing for prospective students who want to do an overnight during their Admissions Visit Day. I also give tours for these students.

How did you get the job?

When I was a first-year I walked with a prospective student interested in baseball while a current baseball player gave him a tour. I knew then this was a job I wanted.

What have you learned about yourself in this role?

I love working with people!

What skill is most important for this position?

Organization is key!

How do you see your work-study experience affecting your future?

I hope this helps me in a future job by teaching me how to balance many important things at one time.

What type of person do you feel is suited best for your type of work-study position?

The best type of person is someone who loves working with people and is not afraid to be asked a lot of diverse questions.

What do you like best about the position?

I love meeting new people and hearing their stories about how they found out about Luther. The best is when you make a connection with them!
