Luther's Ballroom and Swing club exists to promote dance, culture, and fun on the college campus. There are opportunities for both competitive dancing, as well as social. They bring in ballroom professionals and collaborate with other student groups--such as the Jazz Orchestra--while still remaining student-run.
Eklipse Hip Hop Dance Team is a student-led dance team that is advised by dance faculty Jane Hawley. A zany, fun, co-ed group, they choreograph and perform routines using a wide variety of songs and genres, such as pop, rap, electronic, and dubstep.
The Luther Artists’ Collective (LAC) is a student-run artist organization that focuses on promoting student work outside of the classroom and involving students in the school's and Decorah's art communities. LAC is a group of working artists that work together to critique, exhibit and sell work. They hold weekly meetings in the Korsrud painting studio where they critique student work, organize art events and plan trips to galleries and museums around the Midwest. Orchesis is a student-led dance group at Luther College that allows students the opportunity to continue dancing in a college setting. Not limited to one style of dance, Orchesis aims to encompass and promote a variety of dance backgrounds. Choreography for all dances is created by students. Orchesis also enjoys giving back to the community by raising money throughout the year for Phonathon, the Annual Giving Campaign, and Dance Marathon.
SPIN Theatre Company is an official student organization of Luther College advised by faculty member Lisa Lantz. Run by a board of upperclass students, it offers opportunities for students of all years, majors, and experience levels to explore their interests in areas of theatre including acting, set design, directing, stage management, and lighting/sound.
Top Banana (TB) is an official student organization of Luther College advised by Dr. Robert Vrtis. TB is an audition based improv comedy troupe, specializing in the art of short form. Holding several shows throughout the semester, TB provides an opportunity for members to craft their improv skills.
