Phyllis is the Director of the Upward Bound program.
Scott is a long-time staff person for the Upward Bound program. He has worked every summer for Upward Bound since 1990, and full-time since 1997.
Scott is a Wisconsin native, growing up in Platteville, Wis. He attended Luther College and majored in English and Speech/Theater. He returned to Wisconsin to find himself. He found himself in a canning factory, and discovered that he did not enjoy that. He returned to Luther for his education degree.
Substitute teaching in the Twin Cities area was a step up from a canning factory, but he longed for his own classroom. Scott worked for three years at St. Mary's High School in Remsen, Iowa as an English and Theater teacher.
When a full-time Upward Bound position opened up, he leaped at the possibility, and has been happy to be here ever since.
Scott is an author, artist, and avid game player. Currently, he is also taking on-line classes to get an additional bachelors degree in media arts and animation from the Arts Institute Online.
