Building Learning Communities

The Center for Sustainable Communities works to build learning communities among food and nutrition staff at K-12 schools, hospitals, care centers, colleges and universities. We host workshops, meetings, and training sessions on a regular basis. Contact us if you are interested in learning more.

School Wellness

Luther College coordinates education and outreach to school wellness teams and supervises the AmeriCorps and FoodCorps members for the Northeast Iowa Food and Fitness Initiative. Luther's outreach focuses on policy, system, and environmental changes that support  a sustainable, healthy choices and lifestyles, such as growing and using healthy, local foods and offering opportunities for active transportation.

Discovery Camps

Discovery Camps are week-long environmental education programs providing hands-on learning experiences in the out-of-doors that are fun, engaging, and full of discoveries!

Pre-College Summer Environmental Studies Program

Luther's Pre-College Summer Environmental Studies program is an opportunity for high school students to study at one of the top green colleges in the nation!

In addition, we love to have guests at Luther and would be happy to coordinate visits by outside groups. See first hand what we are doing and discuss how you could do the same.
