The Winneshiek Energy District is interested in building a communication strategy to growing a community interest in renewables. We are particularly interested in developing a technical web-based tool to share the story of energy being produced by renewables right here in Winneshiek County.
The Energy District is looking for an intern that is competent in web-development and has a high interest in renewable energy. Specifically, goals for this project would be the development of a visual web display including a “live feed” for local renewable energy production and gathering of data to answer the question of how much renewable energy our community (Decorah and Winneshiek County) produces on a per-capita basis.
Qualifications:
- Competent in web development
- Interest in renewable energy
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent writer
- Good interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Working 20 hrs/week
- Develop web content for the Winneshiek Energy District’s website
- Communicating with community members who own renewable energy systems
- Data collection
